The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) currently holds the hosting rights for the Asia Cup 2023 which is set to be played in the ODI format. However, Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary and the chairman of ACC has stated that the Indian Cricket team will not be traveling to Pakistan for the tournament. And in response, Pakistan has proposed the “Hybrid Model” in which all the game of India is said to be played in a neutral venue while other game would be played in Pakistan.

Rumors were circulating in the media about the postponement or cancellation of the Asia Cup 2023 due to PCB’s insistence that the tournament be held in Pakistan. However, an ACC member dismisses rumors of the Asia Cup 2023 cancellation, stating that no proposal has been sent to cancel or postpone the tournament.
It has been reported that the BCCI is advocating for the entire 2023 Asia Cup tournament to be moved to the UAE similar to the 2018 and 2022 editions of the tournament.

The ACC Chairman added an Executive Board meeting is required to debate the Postponement and cancellation. The last formal communication between the PCB, ACC, and BCCI was about the invitation to the Indian Squad which could not be accepted due to the political scenario according to the source.
