In the 2nd ODI of the ongoing “India Tour of Australia 2023” series, Australia beat India by 10 wickets. The match was played on 19 March at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. Australia won the toss and decided to bowl first. Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc’s five-wicket haul helped Australia restrict the Indian team to a low score. The Australian team chased the low total in 11 overs without a loss. After the 2nd ODI, the series is drawn by 1-1. The 3rd ODI or the Series Decider will be played on Wed, March 22 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
India secured a victory against Australia in the first ODI
First Inning
In the first over of the inning, opener Subhman Gill was out for a duck. After sending one opener, Mitchell Starc also sent another opener Captain Rohit Sharma to the pavilion. In the fifth over of the inning, Rohit was out with a score of 13. Mitchell Starc lbw Suryakumar Yadav and sent to the pavilion for a golden duck. In both ODI Surya was out for a golden duck. Virat Kohli was batting from the one end but no batsman was helping him to build a partnership. Previous match star batter KL Rahul was also lbw by Mitchell Starc. KL Rahul scored 9 runs for the team. After Rahul, all-rounder Hardik Pandya also caught out on the ball of Sean Abbott.
In the first 10 overs, India already loosed their 5 wickets in 51 runs. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were batting at the crease and trying to build a partnership. Then in the 16th over, at the score of 71 runs India loosed the 6th wicket as Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli scored 31 runs and lbw on the ball of Nathan Ellis. At the team score of 91, India lost Ravindra Jadeja in the 20th over of the inning. Axar Patel scored 31 not out and tries to save India from all-out but the other batsmen did not let him do so. Kuldeep, Shami, and Shiraj couldn’t do anything special, and India was all-out at 117 runs.
For Australia, bowlers did exceptionally well. Especially Mitchell Starc shows why he is one of the best of all time. Mitchell Starc took a 5 wickets haul and helped Australia to beat India. Sean Abbott and Nathan Ellis also took 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Second Inning
Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh came to the crease to open the inning for Australia. Both batters hit Indian bowlers very well. In the first 5 overs, Australia reached a score of 49. Indian bowlers couldn’t do anything special and both batsmen were hitting the balls out of the boundary. Within 9 overs Australia reached 100 runs without a loss. With the help of both Head and Marsh half-centuries, Australia chased the score of 117 in 11 overs. Travis Head scored 51 not out and Mitchell Marsh scored 66 not out. For India, no bowlers took any wickets and Australia won the match by 10 wickets.
