Pakistan captain Babar Azam Sets the Fastest 5000 Runs Record in ODI. In the fourth ODI match against New Zealand, Babar Azam completed 5000 runs after scoring 19 runs.
He has become the fastest batsman to complete 5000 runs in ODI innings. Only Babar achieved this feat in 97 innings. Before him, the record was held by Hashim Amala of South Africa. Hasim completed 5000 runs in 111 innings.
Sir Vivian Richards of West Indies and Indian Virat Kohli had completed 5000 runs in 114 innings. Australia’s David Warner completed 5000 runs in 115 innings.
Pakistan has taken a 3-0 lead over New Zealand in the five-match series. Pakistan won the first match by 5 wickets, the second by 7 wickets, and the third by 26 runs. The final match of Pakistan vs New Zea Land will be on Sunday.
