Win for CSK against MI: In the 12th match of Tata IPL 2023 Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 7 wickets. The El Clasico match (MI vs CSK) was played on April 8 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. CSK won the toss and opted to bowl first. Ravindra Jadeja became the Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling.
1st Inning: Mumbai made a fighting total of 157 runs
MI set a decent total of 158 runs. For MI, Ishan Kishan scored the highest 32 runs. Tim David scored 31 runs, Tilak Verma scored 22 runs and Captain Rohit scored 21 runs. No other batters had scored much runs. Hritik Shokeen scored 18 runs at last and took MI up to 157 runs.
For CSK, R Jadeja picked up 3 wickets. Tushar Deshpande and Mitchell Santner also took 2-2 wickets while Magala got 1 wicket.
2nd Inning: CSK won by 7 wickets.
Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad opened the inning for CSK. Conway got out for a duck. Behrendorff took his wicket. Rahane batted very brilliantly and scored a half-century. Chawla sent him back to the pavilion in the 8th over. He scored 61 runs in 27 balls. Then Shivam Dube and Ruturaj batted well, they were taking CSK near to winning the match. In the 15th over, Dube also got out after scoring 28 runs.
Rayudu and Ruturaj stay not out and confirm the teams win. Ruturaj scored 40 runs and Rayudu scored 20 runs for CSK. CSK chased the target with 11 balls remaining with the loss of 3 wickets.
For MI, Jason Behrendorff, Piyush Chawla, and Kumar Kartikeya got 1-1 wickets each.
