In the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, the Gujarat Titans set 228 runs target in IPL 2023 for the Lucknow Super Giants. Despite losing the toss at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and being asked to bat first, Gujarat managed to score an impressive 227 runs while losing only two wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
The openers of Gujarat, Wriddhiman Shah, and Shubman Gill, batted brilliantly and laid the foundation for a huge total with a 142-run century partnership in just 12.1 overs. Shah played an exceptional inning of 81 runs off 43 balls, smashing 10 fours and 4 sixes before getting caught out by substitute fielder Prerak Mankad off Avesh Khan. Gill remained unbeaten on 94 runs off just 51 balls, hitting 2 fours and 7 sixes.
Apart from the openers, Hardik contributed 25 runs off 15 balls with 1 four and 2 sixes, while David Miller finished not out on 21 runs off 12 balls, including 2 fours and 1 six.
Lucknow‘s bowlers struggled to contain Gujarat’s powerful batting line-up. Mohsin Khan picked up 1 wicket but conceded 42 runs in just 3 overs. Avesh Khan also took 1 wicket but gave away 34 runs in 4 overs.
In this match, the two Pandya brothers, Hardik from Gujarat and Krunalgari from Lucknow captained their respective teams.
