Hong Kong beats UAE in ACC Premier CUP by 67 runs in the DLS method. The game was disturbed due to rain in the second inning. So, the result was published by the DLS method. This is the first DLS result in ACC Premier Cup 2023. The match was played at the Mulpani Cricket Ground in Kathmandu, UAE won the toss and chose to field first.

Anshuman Rath played a fantastic inning and guided the Hong Kong team to a total score of 263 runs. Chasing the total, UAE was 117 with 6 wickets lost at the end of 27 overs which was not enough, and lost the game. Hong Kong winning 2 out of 2 games is leading Group B with 4 points while UAE is in third with 2 points.

Hong Kong opened their innings with Nizakat Khan and Anshuman Rath, where Nizakat scored 22 runs before being dismissed by Sanchit Sharma in the 8th over. Babar Hayat couldn’t contribute much to the team’s score, but Kinchit Shah and Aizaz Khan scored 35 and 27 runs, respectively. However, Yasim Murtaza and Zeeshan Ali failed to reach double figures. Eshan Khan remained not out at 23 runs, and Ayush Shukla scored 10 runs not out. Hong Kong ended up setting a target of 264 runs for UAE, losing 8 wickets.

Anshuman Rath played a remarkable inning against UAE, scoring a century with 105 runs in 117 balls, including 11 fours. However, he lost his wicket on the last ball of the 46th over, caught behind by Junaid Siddique.

Aayan Afzal Khan showed exceptional bowling skills against Hong Kong, claiming a 5-wicket haul by taking 5 wickets for 50 runs. Kinchit Shah, Aizaz Khan, Yasim Murtaza, Zeeshan Ali, and Haroon Arshad were the victims of his bowling. Sanchit Sharma and Junaid Siddique also contributed to the team’s bowling attack by taking 2 and 1 wicket, respectively.

UAE Captain Muhammad Waseem and Aryan Lakra joined the crease as an opener. UAE lost their first wicket as Muhammad Waseem as he departs for just 13 runs. As a second wicket, Vriitya Aravind returns scoring 7 runs from 19 balls.

Asif Khan also failed to reach the double figure as he got out for one run. He was caught by Aizaz Khan. The fall of wickets continued as Rohan Mustafa was dismissed by Ehsan Khan at 26.2 over. Afzal Khan got out for zero in the very same over. Eshan Khan took 2 wickets without conceding a run in the 27th over. The game was interrupted by rain after 27 runs. And they have to wait for the DLS method’s results which did not appear to be in their favor.
