Kane Williamson is Ruled Out of IPL 2023: Big Setback for Gujrat Titans

New Zealand star batsman Kane Williamson is ruled out of IPL 2023 due to injury. In the opening match of the IPL 2023, Kane Williamson was playing for Gujrat Titans against Chennai Super Kings and injured himself while fielding.

In the game, Kane Williamson injured himself while he was fielding toward the mid-wicket boundary. In the third ball of the 13th over Ruturaj Gaikwad hit the ball in the mid-wicket boundary on Joshua Little’s slower length ball. Kane Williamson catches the ball and flicks it in the air before going over the ropes.  But as he lands on the ground, he hurts his right knee and seems to be in a lot of pain. The ball was going for six but he managed to save two runs as the ball touched boundary ropes after a bounce. GT physios assessed him outside the rope but Williamson wasn’t able to continue the game. Then he was sent for further medical assessment.

As he wasn’t able to continue the game Sai Sudharshan replaced him as an impact player. Susharshan scored 22 runs for the team. Gujrat completed the target of 179 runs in the second ball of the last over. Even though Gujrat won the first match, in future matches, as Kane Williamson is ruled out of IPL 2023, Gujrat will miss him. It is a big blow for Gujrat Titans.
