To qualify for the ICC World Cup Qualifier, Nepal must complete the last hurdle. Nepal requires one more victory after defeating PNG in the game played on March 13 in order to advance to the World Cup Qualifier. Nepal will undoubtedly advance to the ICC World Cup Qualifier if Nepal can maintain its hot form. If Nepal wins in one more match that will be played with UAE on march 16, Nepal will finish in the top 3 of the ICC CWC league 2 standings. The top 3 teams of CWC League 2 will directly qualify for World Cup Qualifiers.
The last match of CWC League 2, Nepal vs UAE will be played on 16 march. In the top two positions, Scotland and Oman already secured their place. The last match will decide the third-spot contender. Currently, Namibia is placed in the 3rd position and Nepal is in the 4th position. If Nepal wins the last match against UAE, then, Nepal, and Namibia’s positions will be swapped. Thus Nepal will qualify for World Cup Qualifiers.
World Cup Qualification Process
The top 2 teams of the Challenge League and the bottom four teams of League 2 will play Qualifier Play-Off. The top 2 teams of the Qualifier Play-Off, the top 3 teams of League 2, and the bottom 5 teams of the Super League will play World Cup Qualifiers. In qualifiers, there will be 10 teams that will fight for participation in World Cup 2023. India will host the World Cup, So India is directly qualified for World Cup. The top 7 teams of the Super League will also directly qualify for World Cup. The remaining two teams will be decided by World Cup Qualifiers. The top 2 teams among the 10 teams of Qualifier will qualify for World Cup 2023. Thus the final 10 teams will fight for World Cup 2023 Trophy.
