LSG defeated RCB in a Close Encounter: In the 15th match of IPL 2023, LSG defeated RCB by 1 wicket. The match was played on April 10 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Lucknow Super Giants captain Rahul won the toss and opted to bowl first. Nicholas Pooran became the Player of the Match for his explosive batting.
RCB’s Top Orders Brilliant Batting
RCB’s top order played very beautifully in this match. RCB made 212 runs in the first inning with a loss of 2 wickets. Captain Faf, Virat, and Maxwell scored brilliant fifties.
Captain Faf scored the highest runs (79 runs not out) for RCB. In his inning, he hit five fours and five sixes. Kohli also scored 61 runs with the help of four fours and four sixes. Faf and Virat had an opening partnership of 96 runs. In the 12th over Mishra took his wicket.
Faf and Maxwell also had a very brilliant partnership of 115 runs. Maxwell also played a fantastic inning of 59 runs with more than 200’s strike rate. He hit three fours and six sixes. Wood sent him pavilion in the second-last ball of the inning.
For, LSG only 2 bowlers picked up wickets. Both Mishra and Wood took 1-1 wickets.
Pooran and Stoinis Excellence in Chase
Kyle Mayers was gone for a duck in the first over by Shiraj. Deepak Hooda came to bat and played some balls. Parnell strike and sent him back to the pavilion. Krunal Pandya also went for a duck.
KL Rahul was struggling in an end but from another end, Stoinis start hitting balls for boundaries. He scored 65 runs in 30 balls then Karn Sharma took his wicket in the 11th over. He hit six fours and five sixes. In the next over KL Rahul also departs with a score of 18 runs. LSG was in 105 runs at 11.1 overs with a loss of 5 wickets.
Pooran and Badoni were in the crease. Pooran started batting very explosively whereas Badoni held another end. Pooran dominated in the crease and scored 62 runs in 19 balls. But in the last ball of the 17th over Shiraj took his wicket. In 17 overs, LSG was in 189 runs with the loss of 6 wickets.
Unadkat came to bat at No.8 for LSG. They required 24 runs in 18 balls. Aayush Badoni scored 30 runs and then hit wicket himself in Parnell’s ball. Then, they required 7 runs in 8 balls. Mark Wood came to bat and also went for 1 run. In 2 balls 1 run was required to win for LSG but Unadkat also got out by Harshal Patel.
At last, 1 run is required, and 1 wicket is remaining in 1 ball. Avesh Khan was on strike, and Harshal Patel ball, Avesh missed the ball but wicketkeeper Kartik also failed to collect the ball then batters run for 1 run and won the match by 1 wicket. LSG defeated RCB in a Close Encounter with the help of Pooran and Stoinis inning.
For RCB, Shiraj and Parnell picked up 3-3 wickets. Harshal Patel took 2 wickets. In this match, he completed his 100 wickets in IPL. Karn Sharma also got 1 wicket.
