LSG posts a challenging target of 194 runs for DC: In the 3rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Delhi Capitals (DC) took on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. After winning the toss, DC decided to bowl first, and LSG came out to bat. LSG posts a challenging target of 194 runs for DC.
KL Rahul (C) and Kyle Mayers opened the innings for LSG. KL Rahul got out on the last ball of the fourth over, scoring 8 runs in 12 balls. Deepak Hooda came in at number three and scored 17 runs in 18 balls before getting caught out on the last ball of the 11th over. Krunal Pandya came in at number four.
The other opener, Kyle Mayers, was the star of the LSG innings, scoring an excellent 73 runs in just 38 balls. He got out in the 11th over, leaving LSG at 100/3. Marcus Stoinis came in at number five and scored 12 runs in 10 balls before getting out in the 14th over.
Nicholas Pooran came in at number six and made 36 runs in 21 balls before getting out in the 19th over. Ayush Badoni came in at number seven and scored 18 runs in just seven balls before getting out on the 2nd-last ball of the innings.
Krishnappa Gowtham came in at number eight and faced the last ball of the innings, hitting a six. Krunal Pandya remained not out on 15 runs in 13 balls. In the end, LSG scored 193 runs in their allotted 20 overs, setting a target of 194 runs for DC.
Overall, it was a decent batting performance by LSG, with Kyle Mayers being the standout performer. However, they would have hoped for a bigger score, given the excellent start they got from their openers.
DC, on the other hand, would be pleased with their bowling effort, as they managed to restrict LSG to a manageable total. For DC, Chetan Sakariya and Khaleel Ahmed took 2 wickets each. Moreover, Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav managed to get 1 wicket each.
Now, it was DC’s turn to chase down the target of 194 runs and secure a win in their opening match of the IPL. The stage was set for an exciting run chase, and the fans eagerly awaited the action-packed second innings.
