LSG vs DC: Winning Start for Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2023

LSG vs DC: In the 3rd match of IPL 2023, LSG defeated DC by 50 runs. The match is played on April 1 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow. DC won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mark Wood became the Player of the Match for his phenomenal 5-wicket haul.

LSG vs DC 1st Inning: LSG posts a challenging target of 194 runs for DC

For LSG, Kyle Mayers scored the highest 73 runs in 38 balls. He hit 7 sixes and 2 fours in his inning. Pooran also scored 36 runs for Lucknow. Other batters couldn’t score big runs but contributed some runs for the team. LSG reached 193 runs with a loss of 6 wickets after playing all overs.

LSG vs DC 2nd Inning: Mark Wood’s Phenomenal bowling helps LSG to win the match

Prithvi Shaw and David Warner opened the inning for Delhi Capitals. In the 5th over, Mark wood bowled Shaw. Shaw scored 12 runs for the team. New batsman Mitchell Marsh also departs in the next ball. Sarfaraz Khan, Rovman Powell, and Aman Khan couldn’t do much for the team. Rilee Rossow scored 30 runs then Ravi Bishnoi sent him back to the pavilion.

David Warner was holding an end but no other batsman could help him to make team win. In the last ball of the 16th over, Avesh Khan sent Warner back to the pavilion. At last, Axar Patel hits 2 boundaries and got out by Mark Wood. The remaining batsman also couldn’t do anything extraordinary. As a result, DC only reached 143 runs with a loss of 9 wickets after playing all 20 overs.

For LSG, Marks Wood did phenomenal bowling. He took 5 wickets of DC for 14 runs. He sent Shaw, Marsh, Sarfaraz, Axar, and Sakariya back to the pavilion. Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan also picked up 2-2 wickets for LSG.
