Rahmanullah Gurbaz and N Jagadeesan opened the inning for KKR, but Jagadeesan was out for a duck in the second over. Venkatesh Iyer came to bat at No. 3 and started hitting boundaries. Chawla sent Gurbaz back to the pavilion in the 6th over, and Nitish Rana scored 5 runs in 10 balls before Hrithik Shokeen took his wicket. Venkatesh Iyer completed his fifty, while Shardul Thakur scored 13 runs in 11 balls. In the 13th over, Hrithik Shokeen struck again and sent Thakur back to the pavilion. Rinku Singh joined Venky Iyer in the crease, and Iyer completed his first IPL century in the 17th over of the inning. He was out just after completing his hundred, scoring 104 runs in 51 balls. At the end of the power play, KKR scored 72 runs losing 2 wickets, while Ishan Kishan was at 45 runs in 18 balls. Kishan got out scoring 58 runs in just 25 balls with five 4s and five 6s in the 8th over. Tilak Varma came in at number 4, and MI reached 110 runs in 10 overs losing 2 wickets. Varma got out in the 14th over, scoring 30 runs in 25 balls. Tim David came in at number 5, and Suryakumar Yadav got out, scoring 43 runs in 25 balls. Nehal Wadhera came in at number 6, but he was out after scoring just 6 runs in 4 balls. Cameron Green came in at number 7, and MI won the match against KKR in the 18th over with Tim David scoring not out 24 runs in 13 balls.

KKR’s bowlers struggled to contain MI’s batsmen and failed to take wickets at regular intervals. Suyash Sharma was the pick of the bowlers for KKR, picking up 2 wickets while conceding 34 runs in his 4 overs. Shardul Thakur, Varun Chakaravarthy, and Lockie Ferguson picked up 1 wicket each but failed to put enough pressure on MI’s batsmen.
