In the ICC World Cup League-2, UAE skipper Mohammad Wasim made history by hitting a century off just 60 balls against Papua New Guinea. Wasim scored his first ODI century in 60 balls, hitting 4 fours and 11 sixes.

In the third ball of the 21st over, Wasim struck Norman Bhanuwa for a boundary to complete his century. He holds the record for the UAE’s fastest century, becoming the first player from that country to achieve a century in just 60 balls. Before him, Vritya Aravind got a century in 69 balls against Namibia in 2021.

The match will just be a contest of prestige because both the UAE and Papua New Guinea have completely missed out on opportunities to receive ODI status. Papua New Guinea will come in last place in League-2, while UAE will place sixth. These two countries will be eligible for ODIs if they defeat Canada and Jersey in the playoff qualifiers taking place this month in Namibia. They will lose ODI recognition for four years if this occurs.

UAE has 31 points from 34 games, 14 victories, and 17 defeats, placing them in sixth place. PNG is in last place with 11 points after 35 games, 5 victories, and 29 defeats. 35 games were played, and 38 points were directly awarded for 18 victories and 15 losses.
Whereas, Nepal is in 4th place with 18 wins and 15 losses, playing 35 matches. Nepal is playing its last match against UAE tomorrow at TU Ground. Nepal will finish in the top three if Nepal wins against UAE tomorrow.

Conclusion
