In the Shahid Smarak ‘A’ Division League, Nepal APF Football Club and Jawalakhel Youth Club fought to a tie.
Ten-player Jawalakhel and APF played to a scoreless tie and split the points. Both teams had scoring opportunities in the intense game played on Saturday at Tripureshwar’s Dasharath Stadium, but they were unable to take advantage of them.
Adama Domvia saved the APF danger in the 18th minute by clearing Rahul’s cross on Abdul Aziz’s free kick. Fode Fofana’s attempt from outside the penalty area in the 24th minute was easily stopped by goalkeeper Angel Shrestha.
Hari Karki’s one-touch shot from Captain Navin Lama’s pass uplift the bar prevented APF from grabbing the lead in the 32nd minute. Anish Deula, the goalie for Jawalakhel, was beaten by Pradeep Lama’s hard shot in the 39th minute, but APF was unable to retake the advantage.
In the 48th minute, when goalkeeper Anish Deula barely saved Hari Karki’s header from Pradeep Lama’s cross pass, Rahul saved Jawalakhel’s crisis by clearing. APF surpassed 10 players in the 69th minute. After striking Hisav Thapalia in the face, Adama Dombia received yellow card. Referee Prajwal Chhetri issued him a red card and removed him off the field after he shouted his disagreement with the call. The game was stopped after he took too long to leave the field. Jawalakhel, however, was unable to profit from that.
With this tie, Javalakhel has lost the chance to equalize the points with the top ranked Church Boys United. Unbeaten Jawalakhel has reached 7 points from 3 games. Church boys have 9 points after winning in three games. Jawalakhel defeated Machindra 3-1 and NRT 2-1 in the first match.
APF has four points after three matches. In the opening encounter, APF beat Three Star 2-0 while losing to Satdobato Youth Club 1-0.
In another match, Sankat defeated Nepal Police Club 3-0. Ganesh Hamal, Roshan Pahari and Suraj Jyu Thakuri scored in Sankata’s win. This is Sankat’s first victory. Earlier, Sankata drew goalless with Army in the first match and lost 1-0 to Manang in the second match.
But of Police, this is the third defeat in a row. Police lost 2-1 against Church Boys in the first match and 1-0 against Himalayan Sherpa in the second match.
