He smashed 9 fours and 9 sixes to complete his century, hitting spinner Akib Ilyas for a six in the fifth ball of the 39th over. This is his first international century, making him the fastest ODI century scorer from Nepal, surpassing the previous record of 91 balls set by captain Rohit Paudel in 2022.
Kushal is the sixth player from Nepal to score a century in ODIs, following in the footsteps of Paras Khadka, Rohit Poudel, Dipendrasingh Airey, Kushal Bhurtel, and Asif Shaikh. Nepal batted first after losing the toss and scored 209 runs, losing 6 wickets in 39 overs. Kushal remained unbeaten at the crease with 101 runs off 60 balls, with Sompal Kami providing 9 runs of support.
