It has been confirmed that three players from Nepal will be participating in the final qualifier for the World Junior Tennis Championship. From March 20 to 25, the event will take place in Kuching, Malaysia.
The Nepali Team
Three athletes from Nepal, Samriddhi Maharjan, Shivali Gurung, and Swastika Bista, will compete in the U-14 Girls competition. The team’s coach will be Kanchha Khadge. On Friday, the team departed for Malaysia, and Malika Rana, the secretary of the Nepal Tennis Association, and Ajay Bista, a member, bid the players farewell at the Satdobato tennis facility.
Coach Kancha Khadge’s Expectations
Thanks to the sponsorship of Nepalese company KTM City, coach Kancha Khadge expressed his optimism that the Nepali team would perform well in Malaysia. He said that the three teams chosen from Asia and Oceania would be able to play in the championship game. Coach Khadge stated that the Nepali team is ready for the match and expressed hope that they will be selected for the final.

KTM City has provided funding for the competition’s required jerseys, track suits, shoes, and other equipment. This help will make it easier for the players to take part in the competition.
The World Junior Tennis Championship
The U-14 Girls division will feature athletes from 16 nations, including Nepal. The Nepali junior women’s team will be taking part in the championship final selection for the first time. The Asian Tennis Federation and the International Tennis Federation both support the competition.
Farewell Program
Raju Shrestha, Vice President of Nepal Tennis Association, and Neha Chitrakar, HR Head of KTM City, bid farewell to the players participating in the competition in a separate program on Friday. Vice President Shrestha wished the players the best of luck in Malaysia and hoped that they would perform well and achieve excellent results.
