Nepal lost against Namibia by 4 wickets in the first match of the CWC League 2. The match was played at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. Namibia won the toss and decided to bowl first. Nepal posted a poor target of 133 runs after all out in the 42nd over of the inning. Namibia chased the target easily in the 34th over by losing 6 wickets.
Poor Batting by Nepal in the first inning
Nepali top four batters couldn’t score double-digit scores as a result, Nepal lost the first four wickets within ten overs when Nepal’s score was just 21 runs. Bhurtel was out for a golden duck, Aarif scored 4 runs, Anil made 8 runs and Captain Paudel went back after making just 1 run.
Bhim and Malla tried to control the inning but Malla was also out for 15 runs. Sompal was promoted to No.7 ahead of Gulshan and Pawan, he also went back quickly after making only 2 runs. Sompal took back-to-back 3 wickets in the middle of the inning but Nepal’s runs are too short to win the match. Lalit also took 2 initial wickets in the match. Rohit also got a wicket in the match.
Loftie-Eaton scored 31 runs and JJ Smit scored 17 runs, Trumpelmann made 1 run and ensured the victory of Namibia. As a result, Nepal lost against Namibia on the home ground.
