Monty Desai is currently the head coach of the Nepali Cricket team. He was officially appointed on February 6, 2023. It is clear that there is drastic development in Nepali Cricket Under Monty Desai as Head Coach. During ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2, he was the fifth person to coach Nepali Cricket Team.
Nepal was losing its consistency and confidence as there were many changes in the team members. Captains and Coaches were changed haphazardly which directly or indirectly affected the game as well as the confidence of the Nepali Cricket Team and Nepali Cricket Fans.
Previously, there was a certain misunderstanding between players and other CAN members, and bonding between the players was weak. After his arrival, firstly, he maintained the environment of the dressing room. Players were seen as happy with good bonding and brotherhood. This helped players to relax and focus on the game which as a result helped in achieving different milestones in a short period of time.

ACC Emerging Cup 2023:
Nepal qualifies for ACC Emerging Cup after winning the semifinal Match in ACC Men’s Premier Cup 2023. The ACC Emerging Cup 2023 is the fifth edition of the ACC Emerging Cup which will take place in July 2023. This tournament will feature a total of eight teams.
ODI Status and CWC 2023 Qualifier:
On 15 March 2018, Nepal gained ODI status for the first time. In the CWC League 2, Nepal was consistently losing the games and it seems impossible for Nepal retained its ODI status back. And then there comes Monty Desai as head coach Of Nepal turning the scenario. After his arrival, Nepal won 11 out of 12 matches and gained ODI status, and qualify for ICC World Cup 2023 Qualifier.
Pathway to Asai Cup:
Asia Cup has been a dream for every Nepali Cricketer till now. But the dream has come true as Nepal has Qualified for Asia Cup 2023 alongside India and Pakistan. Nepal remains unbeaten in ACC Premier Cup 2023 which showed the Pathway for Asia Cup.
