Recently CAN updated Nepali Cricketer’s Salaries in 2024. In 2024, a significant amount of salary is increased for different graded players than Nepali Cricketer’s Salaries in 2023. Nepali cricketers’ salaries are not as high as those of players from other cricketing nations. However, they can still provide a respectable living for those who are successful and have admirable reputations.
Nepali Cricketer’s Salaries in 2024
Nepali cricketers’ income sources vary based on their level of experience and performance. There are different sources of income for Nepali cricketers. Salaries aren’t only based on central contracts, however, it is the main source of income. The sources of Nepali Cricketer’s Salaries in 2024 are given as:
Central Contract
CAN add two more categories of players than the previous year. CAN add “Grade D” and “Emerging Category” in the central contract. The updated categories with respective amounts (per month) are given as:
- Men’s Cricketers
– Grade “A”: Rs. 1 lakh
– Grade “B”: Rs. 70 thousand
– Grade “C”: Rs. 55 thousand
– Grade “D”: Rs. 35 thousand
– Emerging Category: Rs. 25 thousand - Women’s Cricketers
– Grade “A”: Rs. 50 thousand
– Grade “B”: Rs. 35 thousand
– Grade “C”: Rs. 30 thousand
– Grade “D”: Rs. 25 thousand
– Emerging Category: Rs. 20 thousand
Match Fees
In the recent update regarding salaries by CAN, there is no update regarding match fees, so it will be the same as the previous year. The match fee for ODI is Rs. 10000 every match, whereas T20I is Rs. 5000 per match. Players also receive a daily salary of Rs 500 from the closed camp.
Cricket Leagues
Players have the opportunity to play in multiple domestic and international leagues. The franchises also pay its players. Salaries may vary by league and player.
Sponsorship Deals
Nepalese cricketers can make money through sponsorship deals with brands and companies. Endorsements, appearances, and product promotion are examples of such agreements.
Prize Money
Players receive prize money for performing well in the matches. Prize money examples include Player of the Match, Player of the Series, and Best Catch.
Brand Ambassadors
Nepali cricketers have also been chosen as brand ambassadors for many firms and products, which can result in additional revenue.
Nepali Central Contracted Cricketers for 2024
The central contract is the main source of Nepali Cricketer’s Salaries in 2024. For 2024, there are 30 men’s cricketers, and 19 women’s cricketers get a place in the central contract. Grade “D” and “Emerging Category” are new categories in the central contract. Arjun Kumal missed out on the central contract, he looks very promising player from his recent performances. Kamal Singh Airee also missed out on the central contract. The players with their categories are given below:

- Grade A: Rohit Paudel, Karan KC, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Sompal Kami
- Grade B: Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Aarif Sheikh, Lalit Rajbanshi, Abinash Bohara, and Bhim Sharki
- Grade C: Binod Bhandari, Arjun Saud, Sundeep Jora and Pratish GC
- Grade D: Anil Sah, Basir Ahamad, Aakash Chand, Surya Tamang, Pawan Sarraf, Bibek Yadav and Sagar Dhakal
- Emerging Category: Dipesh Kandel (Koshi), Rupesh Singh (Madhesh), Rijan Dhakal (Bagmati), Bipin Khatri (Gandaki), Dev Khanal (Lumbini), Arjun Gharti (Karnali) and Hemant Dhami (Sudurpaschim)
