Nepal’s first match with Zimbabwe in ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023: Nepal is going to play the first match against the home team Zimbabwe in the ICC World Cup Qualifier 2023 to be held in Zimbabwe next month.

On Tuesday, ICC announced the group division and match schedule for the World Cup qualifiers. Group A comprises Nepal, West Indies, Zimbabwe, USA, and Netherlands. Group B consists of Ireland, Sri Lanka, UAE, Scotland, and the Netherlands.

The tournament will be held in Zimbabwe from June 18 to July 9. Nepal will play their first match against Zimbabwe on June 18. Nepal will play against the USA one day after that on Asar 5 (June 20). Nepal will play West Indies on June 22. Nepal will play the last group-stage match against the Netherlands on June 24.

If they finish in the top three in the group stage, Nepal will make it to the Super Six. The top three teams from each group will enter the Super Six. After all the teams play each other in the Super Six, the top two teams will qualify for the ODI World Cup in India next October-November. India, Australia, England, Pakistan, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa have directly qualified for the World Cup.

If Nepal fails to make it to the Super Six, it will play a play-off. The final will be held on Asar 24 (July 9) at the Harare Sports Club. Nepal has announced a 22-member initial team for the tournament.

Nepal will announce the final team after a week and go to South Africa. Nepal will play practice matches against Netherlands and Scotland in South Africa. So far West Indies and Scotland have announced the final squads for the tournament.
