Once Again RCB Wins Under Kohli’s Captaincy: RCB won the match against Punjab Kings by 24 runs in the 27th match of IPL 2023. The match was played on April 20 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.

Punjab Kings won the toss and opted to bowl first. RCB set s target of 175 runs with a loss of 4 wickets. In the chase, PBKS was all out in 150 runs.
Once Again RCB Wins Under Kohli’s Captaincy
The regular captain of RCB, Faf du Plessis is suffering from injury and was not coming to fielding in the match against PBKS. Then Virat Kohli Captained once again in an IPL match. In the match, Kohli scored his 36th fifty as a captain in IPL and also won the match by 24 runs.
First Inning Summary
Virat Kohli and Faf de Plessis came to the crease to open the innings for RCB. Both openers scored half-centuries in the match. Both had a partnership of 137 for the first wicket. Virat Kohli was out then Maxwell came to the crease but he also went for a golden duck. Harpreet Brar sent both batters back to the pavilion.
Kartik scored 7 runs then Arshdeep got his wicket. At last, Lomror scored 7 runs not out and Shahbaz scored 5 runs not out. As a result, Royal Challengers Bangalore scored 174 runs with a loss of 4 wickets.
For Punjab Kings, Harpreet Brar picked up two wickets. Arshdeep and Nathan Ellis also took 1-1 wickets.
Virat and Faf Fifties
Faf du Plessis scored 84 runs in 56 balls. He smashed five fours and five sixes in his inning. Nathan Ellis took his wicket in the 18th over of the inning.
Virat Kohli also scored a fifty in the match. He scored 59 runs in 47 balls with the help of five fours and once six. He was out in the 17th over on the ball by Harpreet Brar.
Second Inning Summary
Atharva Taide and Prabhsimran Singh opened the inning for PBKS in the absence of Shikhar Dhawan. Taide went back for 4 runs in the first over by Shiraj. Matthew Short came in and scored 8 runs then he also went for 8 runs. Hasaranga got his wicket in the third over of the inning.
Liam Livingston was playing his first match in IPL 2023, he also couldn’t do much for the team. He also went back for 2 runs, he was lbw by Shiraj. H Singh Bhatia was playing in 13 runs but Shiraj made him run out in the 6th over.
Prabhsimram was holding an end and scoring runs but at another end, wickets were falling continuously. Sam Curren was also run out by Hasaranga in the 10th over of the inning. He made 10 runs for the team. Prabhsimran also lost his wicket in the 12th over of the inning. He scored 46 runs with the help of three fours and four sixes then Parnell bowled him on stumps.
Jitesh Sharma and Shahrukh Khan were on the crease. But Shahrukh Khan also went back for 7 runs, Hasaranga took his wicket. Harpreet Brar came to bat and scored 13 runs then Shiraj took his wicket in the 18th over. Ellis joined Jitesh Sharma on the crease but Shiraj sent him took back to the pavilion on the same over.
Punjab Kings required 26 runs in the 12 balls and Jitesh Sharma was playing for 41 runs in 25 balls. But only 1 wicket remained of the Punjab Kings team. Harshal Patel came to bowl in the crucial 19th over and took Jitesh Sharma’s wicket. Jitesh Scored 41 runs in 27 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes. As a result, RCB won the PBKS vs RCB match by 24 runs.
For RCB, Md. Shiraj took 4 wickets of Punjab King’s batters. Hasaranga also picked up 2 wickets while Parnell and Harshal Patel also got 1-1 wickets.
Shiraj 4-Wicket Hauls
Shiraj picked up four wickets in the match. He conceded only 21 runs in his spell. He took 2 wickets in the 18th over and turns the game towards RCB while Jitesh Sharma was taking the match away from RCB. Shiraj took the wickets of Taide, Livingston, H Brar, and Ellis.
