In the Legends Cricket League, the Asia Lions, which features Paras Khadka, a former captain of the Nepalese cricket team, is batting first against the World Giants. With the toss in Doha, Giants skipper Aaron Finch chose to bat first. Paras is in the playing XI but didn’t get the chance to bat.
Tournament Overview
The scheduled game between Nepal’s Paras Khadka and the Asia Lions was delayed due to the rainfall. This caused the match to be reduced to 10-10 overs. However, both teams were still eager to continue their winning streak. Asia Lion defeated the India Maharajas by 9 runs in their previous match. Whereas, the Giants won against India by 2 runs. Paras Khadka scored 3 runs off 2 balls in the first match against India.
In their previous match, the Lions’ Misbah-ul-Haq played an exceptional inning, scoring 73 runs off 50 balls and leading his team to victory. The Lions are counting on a great start from their opener, Tillakaratne Dilshan, and the leadership of their captain, Shahid Afridi.
On the other hand, the Giants boast one of the best former fast bowlers in world cricket, Brett Lee, who sealed their victory in the previous match by costing India only 8 runs in the last over. 1st Inning: Asian Lions scored 99 runs
The World Giants won the toss and elected to bowl first in their match against the Asia Lions. Things did not start well for the Lions as their opener, Upul Tharanga, was out after making just one run. However, opener Tillakaratne Dilshan held the fort and remained not out after scoring 32 runs in just 24 balls. The score was increased by Thisara Perera by 10, but things started to go south after captain Shahid Afridi was exposed after only hitting two runs.
Despite the early wicket down, the Lions had Misbah-ul-Haq in their ranks. He played an exceptional inning. And remained not out after scoring 44 runs in just 19 balls. However, the Lions could only manage a total of 99 runs in their allotted 10 overs.
