RCB sets a target of 213 runs for LSG in IPL 2023: The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in IPL 2023 started with LSG winning the toss and deciding to bowl first. RCB’s openers, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, took to the crease, with Kohli on strike. LSG’s Jaydev Unadkat opened the attack as the first bowler.

After six overs, RCB was at 56 runs without losing any wickets. Kohli was leading the charge with 42 runs in 25 balls, while du Plessis was at 12 runs in 11 balls.

By the 10th over, RCB had reached 87 runs without losing a wicket, with Kohli still at the crease, scoring 58 runs in 39 balls, and du Plessis at 25 runs in 21 balls.

In the 12th over, Virat Kohli got caught out on the 3rd ball of Amit Mishra’s over. Kohli scored 61 runs in 44 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes. Glenn Maxwell, the right-handed batsman, came to the crease at number 3.

At the end of the 15th over, RCB was at 137 runs, losing only 1 wicket. Maxwell continued Kohli’s momentum and scored 59 runs in just 29 balls.

However, on the 2nd last ball of the final over, Mark Wood got Maxwell out. Dinesh Kartik came to face the last ball of the inning and scored only 1 run.

At the end of the first innings, RCB scored 212 runs, losing only 2 wickets, setting a target of 213 runs for LSG to chase. It was an impressive performance by RCB’s top-order batsmen, especially Kohli and Maxwell, who set the tone for the team’s total. However, LSG’s bowlers made a comeback in the later overs, taking crucial wickets and restricting the RCB’s run-scoring rate. Mark Wood and Amit Mishra took 1 wicket each for LSG. It would be interesting to see how LSG responds to the target set by RCB in the second innings.
