RR sets a challenging target for SRH in IPL 2023(RR vs SRH): The fourth match of IPL 2023 was a thrilling encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Rajasthan Royals (RR). The match started with SRH winning the toss and electing to bowl first, giving RR the opportunity to set a target.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler opened the batting for RR, with Buttler displaying some explosive hitting early on. However, his innings were cut short as he got out after making a quickfire 54 runs in just 22 balls in the fifth over.
Sanju Samson came in next at number three, and together with Jaiswal, he formed a solid partnership to keep the runs ticking. However, Jaiswal was eventually caught out after making a well-played 54 runs in 37 balls in the twelfth over.
Devdutt Padikkal came in at number four, but his stint at the crease was short-lived as he got out for just 2 runs in the fourteenth over. Riyan Parag came in next at number five, but he too couldn’t contribute much to the scoreboard, scoring just 7 runs before getting out.
Shimron Hetmyer was the next batsman in at number six, but it was Samson who was the driving force behind RR’s innings. He continued to play aggressively, scoring 55 runs in just 32 balls before getting out at the seventeenth over. Ravichandran Ashwin was the last batsman in at number seven, scoring just 1 run in 2 balls.
Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, RR managed to set a respectable target of 203 runs for SRH, thanks to some brilliant batting performances by Buttler and Samson.
For Sunrisers Hyderabad, Fazalhaq Farooqi and T Natarajan took 2 wickets each. Whereas, Umran Malik took 1 wicket.
