UAE and Canada Won their Matches on the last day of the ICC CWC Qualifiers Play-off 2023

UAE and Canada Won: UAE and Canada won their last matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off 2023. Today last two matches of the Play-offs were played. In the 14th match, UAE defeated Jersey by 66 runs. In the 15th (last) match, Canada defeated PNG by 90 runs.

UAE and USA were already qualified for CWC Qualifiers. These two USA and Canada won matches were played only for formality. The USA finished the tournament in the first position while UAE finished in the second position. Now both teams will play Qualifiers which will be held in Zimbabwe. Namibia, Canada, Jersey, and PNG are now out of the race for World Cup 2023.

Jersey vs UAE

The 14th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off 2023 is played between Jersey and UAE. UAE won the match by 66 runs. The match was played on April 5 at Wanderers Cricket Ground, Windhoek.

The United Arab Emirates won the toss and opted to bat first. For UAE, Asif Khan scored the highest 82 runs. Captain Waseem scored 65 runs for the team. Other batsmen also scored runs for the team. Aravind scored 45, Sanchit scored 23 and Afjal Khan scored 43 runs not out. As a result, UAE set a big total of 284 runs with a loss of 7 wickets. For Jersey, Julius Sumerauer took 4 wickets. Charles Perchard picked up 2 wickets while Daniel Birrell got 1 wicket.

In the second inning, Harrison Carlyon played a beautiful knock of 85 runs. Asa Tribe scored 40 runs and Jonty Jenner scored 32 runs. Julius Sumerauer also scored 21 runs then no other batsman scored runs. Jersey all out in 218 runs and UAE won the match by 66 runs. For UAE, Meiyappan took 4 wickets. Junaid Siddique took 3, Zahoor Khan took 2, and Rohan Mustafa also got 1 wicket.

Canada vs PNG

Canada and PNG played the 15th (last) match of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier Play-off 2023. Canada won the match by 90 runs. The match was played on April 5 at United Cricket Club Ground, Windhoek. Jeremy Gordon became the Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling.

Canada won the toss and opted to bat first. For Canada, Pargat Singh scored the highest 66 runs. Aaron Johnson also scored a half-century for the team. S Zafer scored 28 runs. And with other batsmen’s small contributions Canada reached 218 runs with a loss of 8 wickets. For PNG, John Kariko took 4 wickets while Hekure and Semo Kamea also got 2-2 wickets.

In the chase, Tony Ura scored the highest 36 runs for PNG. Norman Vanua scored 33 while Assad Vala scored 29 runs. No other batsman scored runs as a result, PNG all out in 128 runs. For Canada, Jeremy Gordon picked up 6 wickets. Kaleem Sana and Harsh Thaker both also got 1-1 wicket.
