UAE Defeated Kuwait by 143 runs in the ACC Premier Cup

UAE vs Kuwait, The UAE defeated Kuwait by 143 runs in the ACC Premier Cup, with wicketkeeper Vritya Arvind and Rohan Mustafa scoring centuries. The match was held in Group B, where UAE is considered a title contender. UAE scored two crucial points in their opening match of the tournament.

1st Inning: UAE Score 371 Runs

UAE lost the toss and was invited to bat first. They lost six wickets in the scheduled 50 overs but managed to score an impressive 371 runs. Vritya missed out on scoring a double-century when he got out on the second ball of Parvinder Kumar’s last over. Experienced batsman Rohan Mustafa was dismissed for 118 runs off 125 balls with 10 fours and 4 sixes. Mustafa opened the account in 16 balls and completed his half-century in 95 balls. However, he scored 68 runs in the last 30 balls.

Rohan Mustafa and Vitya Arvind shared a memorable double-century partnership of 275 runs to help UAE recover from a miserable start of 24-3. In the third ball of the 47th over, the partnership was broken when Mustafa was caught out by wicketkeeper Usmanghani Ibrahim off Syed Monib.

2nd Inning: Kuwait Fails to Chase Down the Target

Chasing a huge target of 372 runs for victory, Kuwait was all out for 228 runs in 36.3 overs. Kuwait’s number nine Syed Monib was dismissed for 68 runs off 36 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Similarly, Parvinder Kumar was dismissed for 53 runs off 26 balls with 1 four and 7 sixes.

Apart from these two, none of the other Kuwaiti batters could perform well. Kuwait had a bad start. On the second ball of fast bowler Junaid Siddique’s second over, opener Ravija Sundaruwan was caught out by skipper Mohammad Wasim for a wicket. In the first ball of Sachit Sharma’s third over, leading batsman Mit Bhavsar was caught for 10 runs by wicketkeeper Vritya Arvind.

In the second ball of the sixth over, Junaid caught Usmangani Ibrahim out of bounds for 16 runs. Soon after, Mohammad Amin got out LBW in the next ball and returned to the Golden Duck Pavilion. Parwinder Kumar, who was batting explosively, was bowled in the third ball of the tenth over by spinner Ayan Khan Afzal. At one time, he shared 78 runs for the ninth wicket with Kuwait, who reached 149-8 in 25 overs.

Zainad Siddique of UAE took 3 wickets for 32 runs in 7 overs. Karthik Mayappan took 3 wickets for 63 runs in 7 overs. Sanchit Sharma, Ayan Khan, Zahoor Khan, and Rohan Mustafa took one wicket each.

After UAE vs Kuwait, UAE will play their second match against Hong Kong on April 21 at Upper Mulpani, while Kuwait will play their second match against Bahrain on 22 April at Mulpani.
