Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Najam Aziz Sethi has sent a proposal to the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for hosting the Asia Cup. Now, UAE to Host Asia Cup 2023, In a meeting held in Dubai on May 8, Sethi proposed a hybrid model for the tournament, suggesting that India’s matches be held in the UAE and Pakistan’s matches be held in Pakistan. However, the ACC rejected the proposal, stating that it was not in favor of the model due to budget and team problems.
After the rejection of the initial proposal, Sethi sent a new proposal to the ACC on May 9. He also indicated that if the new proposal is not accepted, Pakistan will withdraw from the tournament. ACC has not given any decision on this matter yet.

ACC to Host Asia Cup in Pakistan in 2023
The hosting rights for the Asia Cup in 2023 have already been given to Pakistan by the ACC. The Indian cricket board, BCCI, has said that India will not play in Pakistan. Due to differences between the two countries, the BCCI had requested to host the Asia Cup at a neutral venue. The Pakistan Cricket Board did not agree, as it hoped that the Asia Cup would improve its deteriorating financial situation.
Sri Lanka Offers to Host Asia Cup
If the ACC does not accept Pakistan’s proposal, Sri Lanka is likely to host the tournament. PCB sources have stated that Sethi was surprised that Sri Lanka supported the BCCI and offered to host the tournament. In the last ACC meeting held in February, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan rejected the proposal to host the tournament in Sri Lanka.
PCB Threatens to Withdraw from World Cup
The Pakistan Cricket Board has said they may not play in the World Cup happening in India in October if India doesn’t agree to play in the Asia Cup. Additionally, Pakistan has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift its World Cup matches out of India.
Pakistan Proposes UAE to Host Asia Cup 2023
Pakistan has proposed to host the Asia Cup in the UAE if the ACC does not allow India’s matches to be held in other countries. However, the ACC has rejected this proposal, and Sri Lanka is likely to host the tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board has said that they might not take part in the upcoming World Cup. Also, they have requested the ICC to move the matches from India. But if everything goes right UAE to host Asia Cup 2023 because India will not giveup with the World Cup.
