Win at home for Nepal against PNG

Nepal won another ICC World Cup League 2 match against Papua Neu Guinea. PNG won the toss and was elected to bowl. Nepal won the match by 52 runs with a match-winning player of the match performance of Aasif Sheikh. With this victory, Nepal still keeps hopes alive to qualify for the world cup qualifier. The World cup league 2 matches are at about their end. Nepal must win the remaining all 3 matches to qualify for ICC World Cup Qualifier.

First Inning: Nepal scored 298 runs

For Nepal Kushal Bhurtel and Aasif Sheikh came to open the inning. They had a brilliant century partnership of 110 for the first wicket. Kushal Bhurtel missed a half-century and got caught on the ball of Riley Hekure at his personal score of 45. Then Kushal Malla and Gyanendra Malla both went pavilion quickly. Aasif Sheikh was holding an end and playing beautifully. Then Captain Rohit made 30 runs and got out. Aasif Sheikh made a brilliant century and got out at 110 runs. The previous match’s hero Bhim Sharki played another good inning of 44 runs at last. Nepal made a total of 298 runs on board. For PNG, Semo Kamea took a 5-wicket haul, Riley Hekure took 3 wickets and Alei Nao got 1 wicket.

Second Inning: Nepal won against PNG

For UAE Tony Ura and Kiplin Doriga opened the inning and give a good start of 77 runs by the opening pairs. K.Doriga run outs at 26 runs by DS Airee. Tony Ura and Norman Vanua made half-centuries while captain Assad Vala played a knock of 42 runs. No other batter hit a good run and team PNG got all outs at 245 runs. For Nepal, Sandeep Lamichhane took 4 wickets, DS Airee got 2 wickets and Kushal Malla got 1 wicket.

Now Nepal has the remaining 3 matches in ICC World Cup League 2. Now Nepal has to play with Papua Neu Guinea once more and two games with UAE. If Nepal wins all remaining 3 matches Nepal will qualify for ICC World Cup Qualifier and now one more win is needed to renew the ODI status.
