World Giants took revenge on Asia Lions

The World Giants took successful revenge against Asia Lions as they played in the sixth game of the Legend League Cricket competition at the West End Park International Stadium in Doha. The Asia Lions won their previous match between these two sides, which took place on March 13. The Asia Lions are desperate to maintain their superiority and continue to destroy the World Giants, while the World Giants are out to exact revenge for their last defeat. Asia Lion won the toss and elected to bowl first.

First Inning

Gayle and Amla started the World Giants’ innings, but their combination did not last long when Gayle was run out after only two runs. The next batter up was Shane Watson, but he too was out after only scoring six runs. After being given the opportunity to bat, Kallis and Amla formed an outstanding partnership that allowed the World Giants to score of 49 for 2 wickets after the first ten overs, despite some early losses.  Kevin O Brien at the last scored 9 of three balls.  The World Giants set the Asia Lions a target of 151 runs to chase thanks to Amla’s outstanding knock of 68 runs from 59 balls and Kallis’ equally impressive score of 56 runs from 43 balls. On the other hand, for Asia Lions, Hafeez, and Tanbir took a wicket one for each of them.

Second Inning

Tharanga and Dilshan opened the batting lineup with Tharanga facing the first ball. Sadly, Tharanga was out after just scoring 4 runs. On the crease, Thisara Perera took his spot. Asia Lions scored 47 runs for the loss of one wicket at the end of the power play. Unfortunately, Parera only managed to score 12 runs before being removed. Dilshan played well at bat, hitting 37 runs off of 28 balls, however, he was eventually dismissed.

The Asia Lions had scored 71 runs before the end of the 10th over but had also lost three wickets, including Misbah, who had only scored 5 runs. Before being dismissed, Hafeez scored 13 runs. Sohail subsequently took the crease. Sohil only managed five runs before being dismissed. Afridi is defeated 26. paras Khadka from Nepal enters the crease and is only successful for 8 runs. Udana joins the crease and brings the duck back to the pavilion. After scoring a total of 130 runs, the Asia Lions were all out and lost by 20 runs. Tino Best and Chris Mpofu both took 3-3 wickets while Samit Patel and Brett Lee took one wicket each helping World Giants to take revenge.
